There has been some seriously weird photos going on Instagram, and the weirdest to me is the bathtub selfie. No, I am not joking: some celebrities are literally taking pictures of themselves during or straight after their cleaning time. Why would they do that? Seriously, who cares if they’re taking a bath?
Not only is this completely unnecessary, but it’s not the most hygienic thing in the world. Here are four reasons not to take a bathtub selfie.

1. The germs. Peoples’ phones have been everywhere, and that means a lot of bacteria is on your phone. I mean a lot, phones have the same amount of germs as the bottom of your shoe. So bathing and taking a selfie isn’t going to make much of a difference to your hygiene.

2. Phones and water do NOT mix. What happens if you drop your phone in the bathtub while taking a completely unnecessary bathtub selfie? Oh I know, your phone breaks. Not all people can afford a new phone! And let’s not forget that you could electrocute yourself by sending electric shots through your bathing water.

3. What ever happened to privacy? Seriously! Celebrities complain about the media ruining their private lives, but they are not helping themselves by taking a stupid bathtub selfie! That is just being a hypocrite. You complain about not getting any privacy, and then you take a picture of yourself taking a bath. How stupid is that?

4. TMI! I know that this is a bit like reason number three, but I do not need that much information about someone’s body. Unlike some people, I would like to leave a bit more to the imagination (not that I imagine any celebrities in their birthday suite. That’s just gross.).

I know that some of the celebrities who have been taking the bathtub selfie aren’t that shocking, but let’s go and name them anyways. Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, Katy Perry, and Rihanna. Let’s not forget that in Katy Perry’s bathtub selfie, she is eating a pizza! Who eats a pizza in the bathtub, or any food in the bathtub to be more precise? The bathtub is for bathing, NOT for a public nude lunch!

Lesson of the Day: When it comes to selfies (no matter how un-useful they are) just smile. Don’t express how you’re feeling in the bathtub.
